Wagtail Woodwork specialises in the creation of unique and masterfully hand-crafted furniture and artisan woodwork. Pieces that are stylish and robust and designed to bring a spark of joy into the spaces we inhabit.
Each item we make in our rural workshop near Lacock, Wiltshire is the result of a deep and carefully considered process. The flow of creation is inspired by the nature of the source material and variety of crafting techniques employed in the workshop.
Because of the intuitive way in which we choose to create, each item that leaves us is truly one of a kind, possessing a soulful quality that is the hallmark of hand made carpentry. You can be guaranteed that anything you choose to take home from our workshop can not be found anywhere else. Our work offers true individuality.

Ecology, Sustainability and Recycling
At Wagtail Woodwork all our wood is sourced locally from a variety of trusted sources with our key consideration being sustainability. The care of nature is at the heart of all we do, from the beauty of natural wood to the inspiration found in our glorious rural surroundings. We are compelled to do all we can to nurture a philosophy of respect for the natural world.
Currently we source our wood from:
Local timber merchants who aim to source their oak from within a 100 mile radius.
Local timber merchants who supply timber from reputable members of the Timber Trade Federation and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) and the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI).
Reclamation yards.
Waste Wood from building sites.
Any left overs and offcuts are used for heating the workshop and we supply the adjoining stables with our sawdust and wood shavings for use as bedding.
